The term “GUARDIANS” was not chosen arbitrarily. It is an acronym of certain words which best represents the noble ideals of a GUARDIANS. The term is the closest word approximating the ever watchful citizen of the COUNTRY, the FILIPINO PEOPLE, the FAMILY and the BROTHERHOOD itself, thus;

The GENTLEMEN and UNITED ASSOCIATES of the Filipino RACE and DAUNTLESS, INGENUOUS ADVOCATOR of the NATION and SOCIETY or when translated in Pilipino Language will absolutely mean: Mga Maginoo, Nagkakaisang Katuwang ng Lahing Pilipino, Magigiting Na Tagapagtanggol ng Bansa at Lipunan.

Immediate Goals and Objectives:

To have vigorous stance in any manner affecting the legitimate offensive and defensive action that serves the best interest of the Organization.

To foster mutual understanding, unity, oneness, solidarity, support, cooperation, camaraderie and harmonious relationship between and among members.

To strengthen the social, cultural, intellectual, spiritual, and political awareness of all members.

To render moral, spiritual, financial and material assistance to any member who maybe in distress.

To adhere religiously the principle of COLLECTIVISM under the theme “ISANG BANSA, ISANG DIWA” to wit: Collective leadership, decision, action and responsibility.

To represent their members and defend their interests before the proper agencies or bodies to take other joint on lawful concerted actions to the redress of grievances.

To take cognizance that the spirit of idealism and unity shall always bind us and see us through many adversities in the service of Our Country (Para sa Bansa), People (Para sa Kapwa Pilipino), Family (Para sa Pamilya) and fellow GUARDIANS (Para sa Bro/Sis)

To commit itself for the establishment of a better society and a government that shall assert its sovereignty, prom unity and economic prosperity and ensure peace, justice and freedom for our people.

This means that in the Organization, there should be Cooperation, Unity, Teamwork & Efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities of GUARDIANS

While all members are entitled to privileges, it is incumbent upon them to abide by certain duties, the fulfilment of which would enhance the image of the Organization. Thus, the following are the duties and responsibilities of a responsible and true blooded GUARDIANS member of PGBI.

General:

  • Vote and be voted upon in any election or referendum concerning the affairs of the Organization;

  • Pay his/her dues and such other assessments as maybe authorized by the By-Laws or Policies promulgated by the Organization;

  • Observe and comply with the rules and regulations as maybe adopted by the Organization;

  • Participate actively and religiously in any activity, undertaking or meeting of the Organization.

Specific:

A Guardians is foremost a Gentlemen.

He/She is expected to be gentle, polite, sincere and refined in his/her manners, talks, acts & interactions with other persons, be they fellow Guardians or not. He/She is expected to be tolerant of others, to admit his/her shortcomings and willingness to receive criticisms and the willingness to reform himself/herself. A Guardians exercises patience and tolerate the opinion of everyone. He/She is respectful to his/her superiors and humble in his/her ways. Arrogance, pride, boastfulness and aloofness are not his/her traits. Profane language is to be avoided.

Guardians must be committed to the country and people.

He/She must be ever ready to protect the sovereign independence of the nation from any kind of treat, whether internal or external and from whatever source. He/She must be ready to fight any force that attempts to enslave the Filipinos or which seeks to destroy the cherished hopes, aspirations and dreams of the Filipino people. Guardians must oppose all acts that are anti-Filipino and must therefore support the leaders who strive to keep the country united and truly free. It is incumbent upon Guardians to cooperate with measures that seek to improve the country whether politically, spiritually, socially or economically.

A Guardian is the servant of the people.(PRO PEOPLE)

He/She must serve the people by rendering rural, community and health services in times of calamities and other disaster. Thus, he/she is to trait everybody with respect and should avoid anything that will scandalize the Organization. He/She sees to it that nothing will destroy the rapport and cooperation between the people and the Organization.

A Guardian is a Guardian of his/her fellow Guardians.

It is incumbent upon every member to help his/her fellow Guardians. It is his/her responsibility to see to it that his/her fellow Guardians acts in accordance with the noble ideals of the Organization and to caution his/her fellow Guardians of any actuation contrary thereto. Whenever he/she can, Guardians must unselfishly help and assist his/her fellow Guardians in whatever capacity.

Guardians must preserve, maintain, and care for his/her Family.

It is an insult to the Organization if Guardians forgets his/her duties to his/her wife and children. Scandals and other immoral acts should be avoided.

A Guardian has the duty of abiding faithfully and conscientiously with PGBI Constitution and By-Laws, its Code of Conduct, rules and regulations including practices, customs, traditions and usage of the Organization.

Finally, Guardians must continuously strive to improve himself/herself whether in his/her work or in his/her habits, so that he/she may become the epitome of an ideal citizen.

Generic Name: "GUARDIANS"

The GUARDIANS is a non-profit organization established to aid and benefit our brothers in uniform, not only in times of peril or conflict, but most importantly, in times of peace.

It has the noble task of UNIFYING the personnel in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the police and civilian entities to safeguard the laws of the Republic.

Thus, it holds NO loyalty to any political party or persons except that of upholding any democratic government or authority duly sanctioned by the people.

The GUARDIANS therefore is NOT a military organization but it serves as an umbrella entity, which in the spirit of BROTHERHOOD is meant to protect the rights of the men in uniform as well as the rights of our civilian brothers and sisters.

Each GUARDIANS member, then military, police service or civilian, is pledged first to be a brother among our people and as guardians to the laws and rights of the citizenry.

Above all, the GUARDIANS’ is established to keep the torch of freedom and peace ever alive in each home of our beloved land.

Practices, Customs & Traditions of GUARDIANS

It is inherent in every organization to adopt certain practices and customs by which it sets itself from other organizations and giving the members one sense of belonging and identity essentials to the progress and success of the organization. The combined effect of these practices ensures the stability of the Organization and even if the individual members may die, the Organization will survive. These practice and customs include the following:

MARKINGS

Members are required to undergo tattooing not for decorative purposes but to signify their life-long and total commitment to the Organization and for all that it stands for. It symbolizes both privileges and responsibilitIies aside from serving as an identifying mark. It likewise serves the purpose of discouraging those who are not ready to give their full acceptance and dedication or sincerity.

Tattooing shall be the last stage of the membership initiation procedures and shall be done manually by a duly authorized marker or with tattoo machine help in the presence of the official marker, officers and members of the Founders Group.

General Markings:

MG - represents the MAGIC Group

B - (Blue) represents the Phil. Army

A - (Air) represents the Phil. Air Force

N - (Navy) represents the Phil. Navy

G - (Gold) represents the PNP, BFP, & BJMP

M - (Maroon) represents the Phil. Marines

Special Markings:

F - represents the Founder

SGF/SGM - represents the Supreme Godfather/Supreme Godmother

RMG - represents the Ranking MAGIC Group

GF/GM - represents the Godfather/Godmother

All members shall be correspondingly marked by a tattoo in the superior area between the thumb and the point finger of the right hand with letters particularly described above.

The “GUARDIANS” marked including the Pseudonym, year of admission and the letters “M” for Mindanao, “V” for Visayas, and “L” for Luzon shall be made permanently by appropriate tattoos on the lateral extremity of the upper right arm just below the shoulder. The design of the shoulder tattoo shall be as follows”

SGF/SGM - Supreme Godfather / Supreme Godmother

GF/GM - Godfather / Godmother

MG - MAGIC Group

RMG - Ranking MAGIC Group

B - Army (Blue)

A - Air Force

N - Navy

G - PNP/BFP/BJMP

The letter marking “GM” stands for Mindanao, “GV” stands for Visayas, and “GL” stands for Luzon tattooed on the superior area between the thumb and the point finger of the left hand to easily identify areas of membership.

Pseudonym – When one is finally admitted as a member of the organization, he/she shall assume a name by which he/she is known by his/her fellow members and make him/her closer with his/her fellow GUARDIANS.

Handshake and Embrace signify respect, love, unity, solidarity and concern for one another. Disregard of Rank, Position, Unit or Branch of Service.

In the organization, there is no obstacle to an open, free and honest interactions among members. As far as the goals of the organization are concerned and for the purpose of achieving cohesion, all members shall disregard their ranks, occupation or unit or Branch of service. Thus, irrespective of whether one is a government official or employee, professional or with the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or PNP, BJMP, BFP, he/she is simply a GUARDIANS. However, to maintain proper decorum in all activities of the Organization, positions of Grand Supremo (GS), Supreme Godfather/Supreme Godmother (SGF/SGM), Ranking MAGIC Group (RMG), Founder, MAGIC Group (MG), and Godfather/Godmother (GF/GM) shall be recognized.

Regular Monthly Meetings

It is only through constant and regular meetings that the bond among the GUARDIANS is kept alive and strengthened. Through these meetings, one is able to keep in touch with his/her fellow GUARDIANS and thereby camaraderie is firmed up. It also provides the opportunity for members to be kept abreast with the developments concerning the Organization and the problems that the members may have and thereby contribute solutions to the predicament of the members.

Recognition (Whacking)

PGBI is not a living arrangement, it is an experience. Forget any stereotypes you might have seen on TV or in the movies - we defy them. Our members include politicians, regional, provincial, municipal and barangays community leaders, active and former military greats, former presidents of different professional organizations & leaders. Our success has been great and varied, yet even with these past accomplishments; GUARDIANS has challenged each one of us socially, physically and intellectually. In school we were among the best at what we did and desire a further challenge was the answer.
